Sparkle Valley - Book 3

Emily is feeling disconnected from everything. Her life, which once was bubbly and fun, now feels flat. And then she gets terrible news– her grandmother Doris has slipped into a coma. 

 

But Emily refuses to say goodbye. She withdraws. Numb to everything. And Sparkle Valley, the world born from her imagination responds, turning into a barren wasteland. 

 

Abigail returns to this world and the forests are gone, the toys are in a deep unnatural sleep, and everything she’s been fighting for seems to have disappeared. Emily is letting go and Sparkle Valley is fading with her. 

 

In what remains of Sparkle Valley, Abigail runs into a new character, a lion with wings named Fluffy who cannot fly. Hank Needlenose has mysteriously come to power, but the deeper that Abigail digs, the more apparent it is that the world isn’t so much being controlled as being abandoned.

 

In the climactic scene Abigail is faced with the impossible choice of whether she should use the Powder of Life which would make her Emily’s real life sister— which is all Abigail ever wanted.

But she understands that with that choice comes a cost.  Because Sparkle Valley was never meant to replace the real world.  And to save Emily she may need to let go of it—the very world that gave her life.

 

Abigail’s final choice, the climactic scene of the entire series, shows what it means to truly love someone.
